Remote control of the GVARC Simple Radio

These instructions will help you to download and install the software on your Windows Personal Computer which will remotely control the Green Valley Amateur Radio Club’s Icom-707 housed in the Ham Shack at the Green Valley Sheriff’s Auxiliary Building.

This service is available to members of the Green Valley Amateur Radio Club.

Three steps must be completed:

  1. Request an account on the Ham Radio Delux server from Ron Phillips using YOUR call sign and the password of your choosing.
  2. Download and install Version 4.1 of Ham Radio Deluxe.
  3. Download and install IP Sound

Caution

Do not immediately begin to use the radio.
If someone is using the ICom IC-725 in the hamshack, you will listen to their traffic and see them tune the redio. If you do the same thing, you will override what they are doing.

You will now be connected to the ICom Radio. Use IP sound to control the receive and transmit volume. To transmit, click the TX Button to the right of the frequency display in HRD. IP-Sound has a built-in scope to help you adjust your transmit volume. When connected to the audio, if the scope is not active, click on the upper of the two small buttons to the right of the IP address.

The Remote connection should not be used for long periods of time, as others will not be able to access the system, while you are using it.

Good Luck
