Jack McGowan AD7NK called the meeting to order at 19:00 and greeted the 33 attendees. A visitor, Ed Eisenhauer, introduced himself.
Both repeaters (27 and 29) are working but, there are problems related to linking them.
During the past month our website has had 468 hits from 362 different visitors originating from: the U.S., Germany, Brazil, Canada, Poland, U.K., Netherlands, Argentina, and Australia.
Tom announced the start of the Green Valley Amateur Radio Club Net. It will be held on Sunday nights at 1900 on the 29 and 27 repeaters and will be a controlled net. The purpose of the net is for club communications and the opportunity for members to check in and to seek information. Tom Lang will be net control.
Continental School Radio Club Meetings will be held on Tuesdays this semester. The meetings will begin on October 26th. Lloyd is expecting about 25 students. If you are interested in volunteering to help with the students, contact Lloyd - n7gv@gvarc.us.

The JOTA will be held on Saturday, October 16 at Fort Lowell Park (Glenn and Craycroft) from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. If you are interested in helping, contact Lloyd or Jack.
Lloyd has a Yaesu FT-533 handheld with manual and charger for sale. Starting price is $75 and bids are welcome.
Tom Lang K7VOA, Gene Schouweiler W0KADS, and Lloyd Miller N7GV have volunteered to serve on a Nomination Committee. If you are willing to serve as an officer next year, contact one of them.
We need more volunteers for the White Elephant Parade which will be held on Saturday, October 30th. The 29 repeater will be used for communications. If you can help, please contact Bob Call at: ke7sbq@gvarc.us. This is one way that we can show our appreciation for the facilities that the SAV provides for the club.
The fall picnic will be held on Thursday, October 28th at the Whitehouse Picnic area in Madera Canyon starting about 11:30 a.m. Unlike previous years, attendees are asked to bring their own beverages as well as a salad, entrée, or desert to share. The club will provide ice, hot dogs, hamburgers, condiments etc. It would be very helpful for buying provisions if we could get a count of those who plan to come to the picnic. Please let us know how many of you will be attending by emailing either Jack at ad7nk@gvarc.us or Don at k7dod@gvarc.us
The December meeting and Annual Banquet is scheduled for Thursday, December 9th and will be held at the Elks Club adjacent to Camino Del Sol near the Valley Presbyterian Church and Shell Station just off Camino Del Sol. The Elks Club is unavailable for our usual Wednesday meeting time.

Adrian Weiss W0RSP presented a short but very interesting program about his design for a portable 20 meter, horizontal, dipole, antenna using telescoping fishing poles available from Walmart. Ade had his antenna on display at the meeting.
