The meeting was called to order by our President, Gene, W0KAD, at 7:00PM. Thanks Gene for your excellent leadership. You have brought this club to new heights and we all THANK YOU.
Our only guest was Hal, N7AZ, from Arkansas who was vacationing here.
Lloyd, N7GV, reminded us of a large Scouting event to be held in Oct. 2006 just after our first meeting. We will be participating and Lloyd needs volunteers. More to come as we get close to the date.
Carolyn, AB7KC, gave the Treasurer's report. We have $1388.95 in the Repeater Fund and $2596.58 in the General Fund for a total of $3985.53.
Proposed club logos were passed around and one will be selected soon. Bob, AD7FQ, has a contact that can make up shirts with our new logo on them.
Anyone who is interested in learning how to operate our website, contact Gene to get together with Bob Junke for a class.
It is sad to report that Don Conley, N6SRH, who was about to become a member, passed away. Our condolences to his family.
We have been invited to do another Special Event station in co-ordination with the Launch for Life Program at the Titan Missile Site in December 2006. Our participation at the recent 20th Anniversary of the site was recognized and those that were there had a great time.
Field Day will be held the last weekend in June and will be at the Fire Dept. training room on Camino del Sol. We will need volunteers for food, equipment, clean up, etc. See Gene and more to come on the website.
Ron Phillips, VE6RGP, gave an update and demonstration on the IRLP, which is operating on our 145.27 machine. If you have any questions on operation, please contact Ron.
We had two winners at our drawing. Frank, KE7GUS, won a one-year subscription to World Radio and Bill, AA0TF, won a Repeater Directory.
This will be the last meeting until Oct. 2006 as well as the last Newsletter. To keep informed, use our website, www.gvarc.us.
The meeting adjourned at 8:10PM.
