Ever since the Titan II Missile Museum director authorized the use of the museum's huge discone antenna by amateur radio operators, quite a number of hams from all over the country have enjoyed QSOs made via this unique relic of another era. What has been needed, however, is an operating position near the antenna input connector so visitors could sit in comfort while they operated their mobile rigs.
Several months ago Eric Rosenquist, KG6WOU, presented the club with a generous gift that was to go toward the purchase or construction of such an operating position. GVARC collected additional funds, and in April our former president, Gene Schouweiler, W0KAD, built the table shown below.

The gray box at the end of the table holds the discone antenna connector. Please see the Titan II Missile Museum page on this Web site for additional information on the antenna and the procedures for its use.

A BIG THANK YOU to Eric Rosenquist, KG6WOU, whose generosity got the project underway!
