On February 8 Don Davies, KF7HYS, will discuss the development and application of the GPS system.
Lloyd Miller N7GV will offer a Tech-level class beginning on Sunday, January 15th, 2-4 p.m. at the SAV Building and continuing each Sunday for 5 weeks. An exam for all license classes will be offered on Sunday, February 19th. For further information contact Lloyd at: 648-2834 or n7gv@gvarc.us.

All 20 slots for The University of Arizona Mirror Lab tour scheduled for Thursday, February 2nd have been filled. A 2nd tour has been arranged for Tuesday the 7th of February @ 2.00 p.m.
We will do the same thing on the 7th as we will do on the 2nd. Your place in line is reserved when Gene gets your $12!!!
We will start from the SAV parking lot at 1.00 to form car pools.
When you sign up please indicate if you would be willing to drive and how many people you can take.
The Cherry Street Parking Garage is at the head of Nartional Championship Drive going North from 6th.
Parking is NOT validated, but based upon the time you are in the Garage.

After the tour we plan to go to the Golden Corral 4380 E 22 Tucson [22 nd Street & Columbus] 520 512 0088 for dinner. [less then 5 miles from the Lab] If we arrive before 4.00 there is a senior discount price of $6.59 At 4.00 they start serving, Stakes, Ribs etc
Good food, good price, and large seating area so we should all be able to find seating in the same area.
Tom Lang is coordinating a special event (two days early) in recognition of the 100th anniversary of Arizona's admission to the union.
Depending on the weather, likely sites for our setup are the Titan Discone or the club radio room at the SAV office.

Join the Oatmeal Net every Tuesday at 9:00 AM (MST) on 145.29 [-600 PL 107.2].
We are happy to have all check in and talk about their radio contacts and equipment, their garden's progress and their travels.
The Ice Cream Net meets at 1800 every Thursday on the 145.29 repeater [-600 PL 107.2]. It lasts about 30 min. After the net, those who so desire can make their way to Sertino's Coffee and Ice Cream { 15980 South Rancho Sahuarita Boulevard,Sahuarita, AZ 85629 } where the event continues with eyeball QSOs.
Regulars include Doc NØXIR, Lloyd N7GV, Carolyn AB7KC, Bob AD7FQ, Linda AD7FP, and Ron AA7RP, along with many others that eyeball QSO until closing time.
Checking into the Ice Cream Net is not mandatory for the Ice Cream Social.
The Green Valley Amateur Radio Club Net meets every Sunday night at 7pm on 2 meters at 145.290.
The object of the net is to keep abreast of emergency communication proceedures and communicate other information that might be important to GVARC members.
Anyone is free to join in on the net to pass along ideas that they may have, or if they need information pertaining to the club or amateur radio.
Participants are requested to check in when requested, "With Traffic Comment" or "Without Traffic Comment" - Even if you just plan to listen in.
NCS (Network Control Station) has opted to use the word “Comment” instead of "Traffic". Thus a normal check in will be "Your Call" with or without Comment. He will still call the station with comments first and then move on to all checked in stations asking for a short transmission from each.
The Snowbird Net with Tom Lang at WE7GV is run from May through September at 1 p.m. (2000 Zulu) on 14.242.
It is currently inactive.
The GVARC Club Station has a Yaesu FT-1000 with a Drake linear Amplifier. The Antenna's are inverted V dipoles for 80M & 40M with the SteppIR Beam For 20 thru 10 meters.
