This was the 17th anniversary of the town of Sahuarita. The Sahuarita Fiesta was held on September 24th and the GVARC had booth "Area 51" from 3 pm to 8 pm. | View Larger Map |

Remember the days when communities used to have fairs with booths, games and pony rides? Families would stroll, together, through the grass and stop to chat with folks in various booths. Vendors sold food in booths, bands played and the dance floor was filled with folks of all ages. | |

GVARC and Amateur radio was exposed to and estimated 8000 people, from Nogales to Tucson, or more. While we were at it, we made 200 QSO's during the event, including Uraguay! | |

September is National Emergency Prepardness month this gave us a chance to set up a special event station and let some of the community know who we are. | |
