The Antenna building party is in the books and a very successful one it was.
Ten tape measure three-element beams where built by as many as 16 club members in about 3hrs.
You might ask if there were only 10 built and 16 folks what did the 6 extra folks do?
Well I cannot speak for all but for myself I just had fun.
Which brings us to this Friday, March 19th @ 1.00. When there will be an Attenuator building party in the same garage at 214 N Crocodile Rock Dr., Green Valley.
Lloyd N7GV will have all the required parts, knowhow and tools required for the project.
Check 145.29 or 360-3237 if you get lost
We will also discuss the Transmitter Hunt to be held on March 27th. So the more folks that come the better. Bring your own chair if you want to set down. Maybe President Jack will bring back the extra water and pop from the last picnic. Eye ball QSOs will be easy to make so come and enjoy.
Don’t know anything about Transmitter hunting? Great none of us do so let’s learn together.

March sure has been an active month for the GVARC.
The transmitter/Geocache hunt was held March 27th and was a lot of fun.
We started from the parking lot of the SAV giving the geocachers a twenty minute lead.
One group of cachers came within two feet of the cache but, for some reason, didn't pick it up.
Hence no one found the cache.
Bill Hooper (K6WWH) was first to find the transmitter.
Afterwards It was discovered that there was a second transmitter and it was hidden near Carl Jr's.
We don't know who was first to find the second one.
We (seventeen of us) gathered at Carl Jr's for a small repast and to trade stories.
On April 30th, the Green Valley Amateur Radio Club had a field trip for club members and guests to the Fred Lawrence Whipple Observatory on Mt. Hopkins. We met at 9:00 am at the Visitor Center and took the Smithsonian tour bus from the Visitor Center to the various parts of the Observatory including the MMT Observatory at the summit of Mt. Hopkins, returning just about 3:00 PM.
Due to the temps (Snow and all) we enjoyed our picnic lunch in the community room, just below the summit.
